Update...

There are several (about five) Villages of Hope in Africa. This is the second one to be built in Zambia., the first one is in Kitwe. The location of this village is just outside of Chongwe. Chongwe is about 30 - 45 minutes east of Lusaka which is the capitol of Zambia. Frank is living in Lusaka, therefore he has to drive to and from work every day.

This Village of Hope is being built with funds from a single Canadian donor. The school part has been at a local church, but now with the new buildings, is moving to this new location. Currently there are classes being conducted for the children at both sites. The plan for the new location is to have four school buildings - each with three classrooms. On site they are also building eleven houses for orphans. Each house will have 8 children - 4 boys and 4 girls. There will also eventually be a library and an administrative building on site.

Frank's role here now is that of the project manager. He has 5 laborers, but also has to oversee the work of a couple of contractors. They are actually rellying on him for a lot of help and guidance. Frank has laid out the location of the two unbuilt school houses and the seven homes. He was to get the piers for the foundations poured and he has completed this task. He is now teaching the workers how to frame and finish the ceilings inside the houses as well as finish off the kitchens.

He is currently in a lot of pain as he has further injured his back. He has sciatic pain shooting down both legs and has numb feet and toes. He is hoping to get an MRI (it was supposed to happen today) to find the injury and hopefully, when he returns to Canada, he can get some relief/cure.
